Bananas in Brazil were sold in
hands. There were several kinds to choose from but my favourite ones were
the small ones.
The local fruit shop in Rua Paraiba had a banana-arranger who loved to sing. Usually it was something like Brazil on my mind. I remember the cashier even started singing as she weighed my onions. |
